Bearded Vulture Ageing Chart

The separation of ages is of interest and importance in assessing the breeding and survival success of this critically endangered species. As an aid to ageing any birds seen and photographed, an illustrated chart has been produced by the John Voelcker Bird Book Fund using underwing pattern changes and facial colours to track the seven years from juvenile to adult. This poster is available for free download to interested people who wish to get better acquainted with this awe-inspiring species, especially at the viewing and photographic hides and for research. Beautifully illustrated by Ingrid Weiersbye, this is a wonderful resource which you can print and laminate.
